Literature Text
One two, one two
Step in time, step in time
March away, march away
I promise I'll be fine
Fine without you when you're gone
And far away from me
Say it once, say it twice
And true these words will be.
I'll think of you in Air Force blues,
I'll think about it all
Stepping lively, stepping true
My soldier standing tall
I promise I won't cry for you
Well…
I promise that I'll try
Not a tear, and not a sound
As two months pass on by
You know these words are all for you
But also, they're for me
Foolish maybe, selfish too
Can't change the way I see
But know I'll always love you
Until the very end
You are my heart, my other half
My hero, my best friend
So, one two, one two
Step in time, step in time
Back to me, back to me
Pretty soldier mine.
Step in time, step in time
March away, march away
I promise I'll be fine
Fine without you when you're gone
And far away from me
Say it once, say it twice
And true these words will be.
I'll think of you in Air Force blues,
I'll think about it all
Stepping lively, stepping true
My soldier standing tall
I promise I won't cry for you
Well…
I promise that I'll try
Not a tear, and not a sound
As two months pass on by
You know these words are all for you
But also, they're for me
Foolish maybe, selfish too
Can't change the way I see
But know I'll always love you
Until the very end
You are my heart, my other half
My hero, my best friend
So, one two, one two
Step in time, step in time
Back to me, back to me
Pretty soldier mine.

Sight Less
Beneath all the beds in New York you'll find the musicians' dungeon. People constructed of more soul than they can hold sell bits of themselves for quarters and dimes. These claim no home other than the section of ground they occupy. Few passerbys take notice, as is the way with common rushers. Handfuls of tourists with pity in their very bones offer mercy in the form of one dollar bills. It's not a job one can hope to live off of. It's just barely enough to keep one from dying.

Indiana
You haven't changed, Indiana.
You're still rust and opium on my tongue,
Still the same mockery of a porcelain doll,
Still beautiful in that way that made me ache just looking at you,
Maybe more so than ever
Now that you're splitting at the seams,
Now that the flies have feasted
On your demure sugar-coating,
Now that the lurking sickness in your body
Has begun to eat away at your mind.
Your days are numbered, Indiana,
And you can't pretend you don't know
That the carrion-birds are gathering.
What makes it worse
Is that you're strong.
You'll fight
Although you were never meant to be a soldier.
You'll claw at their eyes with you
